Our class began our study on Native American Units. To kick it off we joined Mrs. Goucher’s class and made prickly pear jelly from the fruit of a prickly pear cactus. Enjoy this video of our students explaining the process.

As we patiently wait for the new class challenge to start on Edublogs, some visitors from last year may have noticed I redesigned the blog look. If you look at the top of our page you will see two new tabs; Weekly Journal and Reviews. The weekly journal is a question for my students to answer about something we are learning, but we encourage others to come on over and respond to our questions as well. The Reviews tab is going to be brimming with book reviews as we begin our 40 book challenge this week. Every week two lucky kids can review a book they have read as we try to accomplish reading 40 books from different genres by the end of the year. Enjoy!

We have had a blast so far learning about science this year. We have done three projects so far to help us learn some important science lessons.
Our first project was working as a team to build straw structures. We had to design a structure that would hold pennies. Watch our animoto to see the fun!
Then we used the Scientific Method to SAVE FRED!
We also demonstrated what we knew about plant and animal cells by creating them out of Jello!
Have fun looking at our science videos!
